The fatmat and peel and seal are the same thickness(measured with micrometer) , both do not smell and both have very similar adhesion characteristics, I would even go as far as to say they are the same thing...both were even packaged similar with a "batch" sticker that was the exact same size and font and digit number....the rolls were just different sizes....Even looks the same, just no fatmat logo....anyway you get the point! The fatmat I got on ebay for 9.99 shipped and if you do the math, I got 100sq ft of fatmat, and the peel and seal would have cost more. I used the peel and seal in the doors, and even tripled it up in the easily accessible areas on the door. It made a HUGE difference, and had no issues with smell or it not sticking properly. I was a professional car audio installer for 4 years and used dynamat xtreme all the time, and it IS a great product, made of butyl and not asphalt, and it is also thicker, but at the cost of dynamat, its not affordable for budget driven builds, and this stuff still makes a HUGE difference for the fraction of the price.
