Do you know - How I Lowered My Home Heating Bill in 3 Steps by 32%

I'm one of those people who keep a pretty tight budget. I make sure all my t's are crossed and i's are dotted when it comes to my finances because I want the absolute best and safest future for my wife, kids, and family. One of my biggest financial worries in the winter is my heating bill. I live in Illinois, and MAN does it get cold up here! I constantly shell out hundreds of dollars every month to the utility company to heat the home my family lives in.

What I said. It shouldn't be in conclusion that the real about Home Depot. You see this article for information about an individual need to know is Home Depot.

About Home Depot

The heating bill rises by 3-4 times during the colder months, but my hot water heater is always running, keeping me paying about for the natural gas to power it every month. The furnace is also natural gas and they both have a lot of life left in them.

After lots of research online, talking with a few people at Northern Illinois University - the university in my home town of DeKalb - I finally have been able to reduce my home heating costs. It's been a long battle with lame products that don't work and I'm finally here to tell you what I did, and how I dropped my home heating costs by over 32%. The secrets lie in simple fixes and tweaks around the house, including one that was a little less-than-intuitive.

My battle for lower heating bills started 2 winters ago when the gas prices around the US were at record highs and my family was in a pinch for extra cash to survive on. I looked all over the internet, including the US Government websites where I learned all about high-efficiency hot water heaters and furnaces, fuel conditioners and finally to an enormous pool of products saying they'd help me lower my bill. The majority of the products came without any real research or guarantee.

Here's what I found:

1.      I installed a programmable Honeywell thermostat. With this new gizmo, I was able to program when the heater needed to kick on - even on single days! So on Monday-Fri when the family gets up at 7:30am, the heater kicked on about 30 minutes prior to heat the house. No reason to waste heat in the kitchen when it wasn't being used! I also programmed the weekends to allow for us to sleep in a bit.

2.      I sealed all of my outlets in the walls with some black foam I purchased at Home Depot. Simple, easy, and totally affordable. It was just a brick of the foam plus a small saw I had and a drill and it was done. Took maybe 2 hours and I did it with my 8 year old daughter.

3.      The last step that I did that really did help a ton was to install a fuel conditioner on my furnace and hot water heater fuel intake line. It's that little line, about ½ inches wide, entering the furnace or hot water heater from the side. Just before it enters, I installed a Magnon Fuel Conditioner on each unit. The Magnon Fuel Conditioners are a simple collar that wraps around the fuel line of the hot water heater and furnace in your home and installs with 4 zip ties. Took me about 5 minutes to install the Magnon Fuel Conditioners, and they dropped my heating bill by about 18 or 19%. The Magnon Fuel Conditioners never need to be serviced and come with a 365 Day Guarantee!

That was the best solution I could find to my problem. Cutting my home heating bill by about 32% every year is enough to make me sigh in relief! I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to know that I'm doing everything I possibly can to cut my home heating bill. You know - now that my furnace and hot water heater are as efficient as possible, I am also doing my part of keeping the world GREEN! And that makes me sleep well at night.

You can find the black foam at Home Depot or Lowe's or any other decent hardware store.

I hope you obtain new knowledge about Home Depot. Where you can offer use in your everyday life. And most significantly, your reaction is Home Depot. Read more.. How I Lowered My Home Heating Bill in 3 Steps by 32%.
